fans Ed Sheeran to emerge from a box at his show last night.
The Candy Shop rapper, 48, hit up the last night to a stadium of buzzing fans, – if not a little confused – when the Thinking Out Loud hitmaker, 32, appeared on stage.
Not only did Ed make a surprise performance, singing Shape Of You, but he actually appeared from underneath a box labelled, ‘There is a monster in this box,’ which lifted into the air to reveal the star to a roaring crowd.
50 Cent – – adlibbed around Sheeran’s hit with the odd ‘what’ and ‘uhuh’, as the acoustic star shouted, ‘London, sing it loud!’
Sheeran documented his arrival on his Instagram story, telling his 46 million followers: ‘Right so I’m off to sing, 50 Cent has invited me to the O2 to sing Shape Of You and I’m going to walk on stage and go “who likes In Da Club, here’s Shape Of You”.’
The crowd lapped up Ed’s appearance, as they sang back to him the lyrics: ‘I’m in love with your body.’
As he walked backstage, Ed videoed himself singing along as 50 Cent rapped 21 Questions, before telling fans: ‘I’m going on a lift!’
After his performance, the A Team singer added, ‘Back on our game…I’m going to go back and watch the gig now with 50 Cent’s biggest fan,’ gesturing towards his security guard, Kevin.
Ed watched the show from a box, which saw him enthusiastically sing along to 2003 hit In Da Club.
‘My man came through for me tonight, BOOM. LONDON went crazy! It don’t get bigger than this,’ wrote 50 Cent on his social media.
‘Right that’s it now, 50 Cent over,’ concluded Ed at the end of the video. ‘Alas.’
Fans were a little perplexed at the unlikely collaboration, as one took to X and wrote: ‘Ed Sheeran link ups are always sooooooooooooooooooooooo random.’
‘Random collab,’ said another, while someone else commented on the video: ‘The crowd was shook.’
This comes after after claims he threw a microphone at a crowd during a performance in Los Angeles as part of his Final Lap tour on August 30.
The office of the Los Angeles City Attorney said that the case will be closed after one year if 50 Cent has no ‘further police contacts’.
50 Cent has more than a dozen shows left as part of his Final Lap tour, which will next see him travel to Bahrain, India and Kazakhstan at the end of November before several dates in Australia.
Back in September, Eminem joined 50 Cent on stage in Michigan.
Before leaving the stage, the Lose Yourself hitmaker said: ‘Detroit make some noise for one of the best friends I’ve ever known 50 Cent! Make some noise for hip-hop’s 50th birthday y’all!’Â
