has finally released the long-awaited music video for her new single I Drink Wine.
The Grammy-winning musician madewith her number-one hit Easy On Me, an ode to her young son after her separation from ex-husband Simon Konecki.
Now, with her rescheduled Las Vegas residency, the Londoner has recently been teasing the release of her second video for album 30.
Announcing Adele wrote on social media: ‘The I Drink Wine video was the first one I shot for this album.
‘And it’s finally coming out tomorrow!! I’m excited for you to see it and I can’t wait to see some of you tonight!’
The video is now finally here, and there’s plenty for fans to chew on in the ballad, with the short film over seven minutes long.
It features the singer clad in a startling glittery gold dress, floating down a river drinking – you guessed it – wine.
Her newest album is arguably her most personal yet, a it elves into the divorce between her and Simon, and the video reflects this, with the mum-of-one looking bitterly on as couples cuddle lovingly on the banks of the river she floats down alone.
(That is, until she’s joined by synchronised swimmers during the chorus – as well as a potential suitor who fills her glass.)
The video, posted to YouTube on Wednesday, racked up hundreds of thousands of views within an hour of its release, and fans are – naturally – raving about it.
One Twitter user called it ‘one of Adele’s best music videos, or maybe THE BEST,’ while another agreed she ‘never fails in her quality.’
Another gushed: ‘the end of i drink wine is everything, one of the most beautiful music videos i’ve seen, wow (sic.)’
And one joker said the singer was ‘living her Splash Mountain fantasy’ in the video.
Adele previously explained that I Drink Wine was about shedding her ego, with the lyrics including her asking herself why she was seeking approval ‘from people I don’t even know.’
Her 30 album, released to critical acclaim in November 2021, enjoyed five weeks at number one in the UK, and topped charts around the world as fans welcomed the singer back with pure unadulterated joy.
The I Drink Wine music video comes after Adele confirmed the new dates for her Vegas residency, which she cancelled last minute in January last year as it simply was not ready.
Speaking to fans this summer, the musician announced she was ‘ecstatic’ to ‘finally announce these rescheduled shows.’
‘I truly was heartbroken to have to cancel them,’ she said, adding she is aware that some people thought ‘it was a horrible decision on my part, and I will always be sorry for that, but I promise you it was the right one.’
Adele will launch her Vegas residency on November 18 at The Colosseum in Caesar’s Palace.
