has made the ‘difficult decision’ to leave , which has left a huge space on the sofa.
The 42-year-old presenter has been a firm fixture on the daytime programme for 14 years, and so she is leaving some pretty big court shoes to fill.
In a heartfelt statement announcing the departure, Holly thanked viewers for being ‘loyal, so supportive and the very best company every day.’
She continued: ‘Richard and Judy said “we only look after this show, it will always belong to the viewers”. It’s been an honour to just be part of its story and I know this story has many chapters left to go. Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family.’
Who will be hosting the series in the next ‘chapter’? Let’s take a look at some of the frontrunners according to betting sites…
Davina McCall
Davina is certainly a safe pair of hands as she has been presenting for over three decades and has recently had success with the ITV dating show
The 55-year-old is busy also hosting Long Lost Family, and running a successful online fitness platform – Own Your Goals.
But does she fancy another one? By one, we mean job.
She’s currently positioned at odds of 4/1 with but 33/1 with
Amanda Holden
Experienced Amanda could be in our homes Monday-Thursday as her odds sit at 5/1 with Ladbrokes, and 25/1 with BonusCodeBets.
The 52-year-old has long been a friend of the series and has previously taken a seat on the famous blue sofa between 2014 and 2017. Although, Amanda was never a permanent host, she did step in.
Now, she is focused on radio and hosts Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston, so the role may not work with her schedule!
Rochelle Humes
Rochelle is also coming in strong, matching Amanda’s 5/1 at Ladbrokes and 10/1 at BonusCodeBets.
This week, Rochelle has already been stepping in to host the programme with Craig Doyle.
The 34-year-old found fame as part of band The Saturdays, but has taken to hosting like a duck to water. She even has her own primetime game show on BBC called The Hit List alongside husband Marvin Humes, where the test the contestants’ musical knowledge.
Alison Hammond
Much-loved ‘human sunshine’ Alison, 48, is already doing the job on Fridays. She hosts the show alongside Dermot O’Leary, but could she take on a few extra shifts?
Bonus Code Bets have her as evens, while put her odds at 3/1.
If it means seeing then we’re all for it.
Josie Gibson
Josie is already the series’ most used roving reporter and often finds herself doing the main host role too. We love seeing her co-hosting with bestie Alison!
She originally rose to fame on Big Brother and won the 2010 series. The public fell in love with her, and This Morning snapped up Josie in 2019 presenting the competition segments, and she hasn’t looked back since. Could she be on track for another promotion?
The 38-year-old is currently positioned at 2/1 by BonusCodeBets, and The Sports Daily places her at 3/1.
Other names in the mix include Rylan, Ben Shephard, Lisa Snowdon, Ruth Langsford, Emma Willis, and Stacey Solomon. All of whom would do a wonderful job too!
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
