Amanda Holden lights candle for late son on what should have been 13th birthday

has marked what would have been her late son Theo’s 13th birthday.

The and radio star, 52, is mum to two daughters: Lexi, 18, and 12-year-old Hollie, with husband .

Chris and Amanda are also parents to son Theo, in 2011 at seven months.

The TV star has she suffered losing her son, including having to go through labour with him – and each year she marks with her family.

On Thursday, Amandaof a single candle lit up in the darkness at her home.

She wrote alongside it: ‘You would have become a teenager today … #Theo.’

Amanda has previously been inundated with messages of support when marking her son’s birthday.

On the day he would have turned 11, she shared an inking of his footprints to social media writing that she was ‘still grateful you chose us for your journey.’

The likes of Ruth Langsford, Stacey Dooley,and Helen Skelton each took the time to write supportive comments on her post at the time, while this time she chose to post it on her Stories where comments are not made public.

In 2018, Amanda narrated documentary Child of Mine on stillbirth, and later opened up about her own experience in a gut-wrenching interview to help others who may be going through the same thing.

She spoke about her ‘beyond horrific’ ordeal on Dear NHS Superstars in July 2020, heaping praise on her midwife and friend Jackie who encouraged her to hold Theo once he was born.

‘Jackie said, “He’s absolutely gorgeous, Amanda. You need to see him”, and that’s when I felt him in my arms for the first time,’ she told the camera.

‘And I realised I was still a mummy, even though he was fast asleep.

‘The thing that I always remember most about him was his perfectly-formed eyebrows, which all my children have.’

Sands UK charity

Sands UK is a stillbirth and neonatal death charity, which works to reduce the number of babies dying and to ensure that those affected by the loss of a baby receives the best possible care for as long as they need it.

The charity aims to better understand the causes of baby deaths and works with governments and other organisations to raise awareness of issues surrounding baby loss.

Sands provides bereavement support at a local and national level.
