Amanda Holden vows not to tone down Britain’s Got Talent fashion looks after past complaints: ‘I’m thinking more rubber’

has promised that she has no intention of toning down her fabulous looks when the show returns after previous complaints, admitting that she’s thinking of wearing ‘more rubber’.

For the past 15 years, Amanda, 51, has sat alongside as one of the judges on the ITV talent competition, witnessing stars including Susan Boyle, Diversity and George Sampson soar to stardom.

However, aside from the critiques she has to deliver on the talented acts that grace the stage, one of the talking points that viewers keep coming back to is her outfits.

In September 2020, the TV personality responded to the fact that people , with some expressing their belief that it was too ‘revealing’.

Meanwhile, in September 2017, the most complained about TV moment of the year at that point was another dress she wore on the programme, that almost reached her belly button.

Not one to be deterred by naysayers, Amanda revealed she has plans to take her fashion up a notch one again on the programme, telling and other press: ‘I’m thinking more rubber – I enjoyed wearing latex in the auditions, so I’m thinking more latex, more sweating in the lives.’

The actor previously told the publication that Britain’s Got Talent is ‘the perfect opportunity to take risks’, adding that she doesn’t believe that ‘anyone should feel pressure to dress for your age’.

‘It’s all about body positivity and feeling good,’ she stated, describing the attention she received for one of her previous plunging dresses ‘hysterical’.

‘That dress was hysterical – it was Julien Macdonald. I had bits of fish wire underneath my breasts trying to hold that together,’ she said at the time.

‘But, look, I’m from a small-chest family, plus you know I’m 48 years old. It’s all quite laughable, but all everyone seems to talk about.’

As viewers prepare for the return of Britain’s Got Talent after two years away, Simon opened up about what it’s like for the judges behind the scenes,

However, he added to Metro.co.uk and other press that they don’t ‘feel bad about arguing’, saying: ‘In other words, when we disagree, and we do a lot, it’s not uncomfortable, and that’s when you know it’s a fun place to work, otherwise, it’s really bad.

‘If you don’t laugh in a day there’s an issue, and that’s probably what we do on the show.’

Britain’s Got Talent returns on Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
