Amouranth, the popular Twitch streamer, plans to close down her On***ans and begin working towards a mainstream audience.
Kaitlyn Siragusa, better known as , announced on April 13 that she would be closing down her and making a ‘career pivot’ to a less lewd version of the content she currently puts out.
In a Twitter thread, she detailed how she was planning to go ‘all-in’ on Twitch as a platform, with larger budgets and moving into the realm of ‘legacy media’ in terms of how her future content will be produced.
Her announcement includes a ‘[$]350,000-$400,000’ investment in content creation for Twitch. Since then, she has begun to reveal why she is stepping away from more adult content for this new plan.
Why is Amouranth closing her On***ans?
A major reason for Amouranth’s rise to success was her streams in which she would sit and interact with her audience in a hot tub. For obvious reasons, this drew in a lot of viewers and soon earnt the title of ‘queen of hot tub meta’.
The hot tub streams, combined with – at its peak of popularity – an On***ans page that would generate positioned Amouranth as the number one female Twitch creator of 2021.
However in an interview with , Amouranth revealed that it was a ‘constant grind’ and prevented her from entering the mainstream due to her current style of content.
By limiting her content to the ‘e-girl’ style, it’s clear from the interview that Amouranth wants to convert a larger pool of viewers into followers, rather than the smaller batch she currently has access to now.
Getting candid about the way she runs her business, Amouranth explained that she has to ‘optimise for being the entertaining part of Amouranth,’ and that her funny side, that is often seen in collaborations, will have to now be her focus.
Her hope is that by not ‘farming’ for the particular audience that subscribes to her On***ans, she can begin to generate a fresh audience with ‘an average attention span’ to help promote her animal sanctuary goals.
How much is Amouranth worth in 2022?
Siragusa is currently worth an estimated $20-25 million, when taking into account her very open and detailed interview about her finances. While she can’t earn money via advertising on Twitch, because her content is too risqué, she has managed to keep a steady flow of donations coming in from her audiences.
On top of Twitch and On***ans, she has bought a to rent out to Circle K, a chain based in the US and also purchased an too.
Amouranth is also sponsored by G Fuel and Dolls Kill, a clothing brand.
