Sally Dexter, who is well known for her Emmerdale character Faith Dingle, recently learned that her cancer has returned and is terminal.

Night and Day (2001-2003) and Emmerdale (2001-2003) are two of the actress’s television credits (2007-2019, 2021-present).

Dexter attended Chiltern Edge School, King James’s College, now known as Henley College, and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art at Henley-on-Thames. A Touch of Frost, Dalziel, Pascoe, and Family, as well as the long-running Night and Day, are just a few of the shows she’s appeared in.

Faith Dingle’s departure from Emmerdale is set for the end of the year.

AKA Faith Dingle Sally Dexter just revealed that her cancer has returned and is rapidly progressing. Dexter announced her departure from Emmerdale on October 7, 2019, with her farewell scene airing in the episode broadcast on October 25, 2019. However, in 2021, it was announced that Faith Dingle will be returning her role as Dexter.

Dexter first appeared on Emmerdale in February 2017 as Faith Dingle. She also appeared in the BBC TV series Poldark and the comedic horror film The Attack of the Adult Babies.

Dexter has been in both straight plays and musicals in London’s West End as a theatre actress. Her performance in the 1986 version of Dalliance earned her the Olivier Award for Most Promising Newcomer in Theatre in 1987.

Nancy in Sam Mendee’s 1994 staging of Oliver! at the London Palladium with Jonathan Pryce was another highlight of her career. She was even nominated for an Olivier Award for her outstanding performance in Oliver!

If this Oliver! has made any celebrity, it should be RSC alumnus Sally Dexter, whose blowsy, huge-voiced Nancy is the career-making performance this performer has long deserted, according to the variety show reviewer. She also appeared in the television series A Touch of Frost from 1994 until 2003.

Faith Dingle: Where Is She Now?

Faith announced on June 16, 2022, that her cancer has returned to her family. Moira, Faith’s daughter-in-law, had gone to the hospital with her the previous month, where her consultant confirmed Faith’s cancer had returned.

Faith’s cancer, unfortunately, is incurable and will shorten her life. Chemotherapy, on the other hand, may be used to treat it.

Mrs. Wilkinson in Billy Elliot the Musical opposite Leon Cooke for a year, departing the play to standing ovations, and Lady Macbeth in Macbeth opposite Rufus Sewell are two of Dexter’s notable roles.

The actress has worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal National Theatre in London for many years. She was in Bad Girls-the Musical at the Garrick Theatre in London in 2007, and her voice may be heard on the original cast recording as well as the London Palladium cast recording for Oliver!

What Is Faith Dingle’s Future?

Faith refuses to continue her treatment, but Chas has instructed Cain to persuade her because he is the only person she listens to.

Emmerdale viewers are upset after learning how much longer Faith has to live now that they know all of this. Faith’s fans are devastated to learn that she only has months to live, not years.

Dexter played Mother Superior in the London Palladium version of Sister Act from September to October 2010. Sugartown, a three-part BBC comedy-drama series starring Tom Ellis, Sue Johnston, and Miranda Raison, was co-written and conceived by her.

In Ian Rickson’s Young Vic production of Hamlet, Dexter was cast as Gertrude opposite Michael Sheen in a preview in October 2011. She even played the White Witch in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe at Kensington Gardens’ Threesixty Theatre until September 2012.

Dexter also starred as Simone in the Spice Girls musical Viva Forever in 2012, and she appeared in the BBC TV series Father Brown in 2017.
