BBC is kicking off weekend in the best way by launching its groundbreaking new dating show a day early.
The broadcaster has announced that the – fronted by Dannii Minogue – will be available on BBC iPlayer from 6am on Saturday (May 13) before the series properly launches the following day at 9pm on .
In a press release, the BBC hailed it as ‘the perfect starter to your Eurovision weekend’.
They added: ‘Get ready for the UK’s first ever dating show, where the path to love is never straight. It’s loud, it’s proud… and it all starts with a kiss.
‘Fly in pop icon Dannii Minogue to play Cupid, and it’s the party you do not want to miss.’
The show will see 10 single guys matched up and meet for the first time with a kiss, shunning small talk and messages in the ultimate chemistry test.
The Beeb teased: ‘Will it be a polite peck? Or a passionate snog? And ultimately, will that first kiss lead to love?’
As well as plenty of drama and cliffhangers, the broadcaster has also promised ‘powerful untold stories’, ranging from coming out in a strict religious family and navigating self-acceptance to ‘the pressures of body image in the gay dating scene’ and first same sex romances.
And in a welcome move on Eurovision weekend, bosses have also promised ‘a sparkling soundtrack full of gay anthems’.
There’s plenty to get excited about this week, with live coverage of both Eurovision semi-finals kicking off at 8pm on May 9 and 11, with Rylan Clark and Scott Mills in the commentary box.
Then, the grand final will also air on BBC One, on Saturday May 13 at 8pm, with Graham Norton commentating between presentation duties, with a little help from Mel Giedroyc.
I Kissed A Boy will be available on BBC iPlayer from 6am on May 13. The series starts on May 14 at 9pm on BBC Three.
