– after a campaign from fans, it looks like we might finally be getting our hands on ’s Renaissance-era music videos.
The singles from Beyoncé’s seventh album, which was a transatlantic number one during July 2022, still haven’t been accompanied by any visual releases.
Despite a fan campaign, plus a promise that visuals were ‘scheduled for a later date’, neither Break My Soul nor Cuff It have received the video treatment.
Visuals have become especially important to Beyoncé’s work since 2016 album Lemonade, which was accompanied by a 65-minute film of the same name.
And the Bey Hive’s waiting game appears to be something that Queen B herself is aware of if the backdrop of her latest Renaissance tour is anything to go by.
In the , fans were treated to a beautifully foul-mouthed and typically outrageous message regarding future videos.
‘Aww, you mad?’ read the words on the screen. ‘Well, there’s no remedy for that, b*****s. I know you hear me. You’ve asked for the visuals.’
It continued: ‘You’ve called for the Queen. But a queen moves at her own pace, b***h. Decides when to give you a f*****g taste! So get your fork and spoon.’
The message was delivered by American rapper Big Freedia, who has worked with Beyoncé on both Formation and on Break My Soul.
The pop superstar then broke into a fierce rendition of Formation, which has been a particular live performance favourite ever since the 2016 Super Bowl.
Fans had wondered whether the lack of music videos might have on stage earlier this week.
Eagle-eyed concert-goers noticed that, on the opening night of a 53-date worldwide tour, the Crazy In Love singer wasn’t moving quite so freely.
The Bey Hive is currently speculating that the Irreplaceable singer might have recently had foot surgery before a special show in Dubai earlier this year.
‘Visually and conceptually her best tour to date. Vocals were moisturized. We’re gonna continue praying for your foot, mother Beyoncé,’ one fan said.
