It’s almost a decade later but fans are still dying to know exactly what went down between and Solange Knowles in the elevator after the .
Somehow, they think Beyonce’s nephew – and son of Solange Knowles – has all the answers and questioned him accordingly.
It was in May 2014 when footage was L***ed of a , 37, as they left the Met Gala with Beyonce, 41.
The short black-and-white clip clearly showed Solange shouting at her longtime brother-in-law before hitting and kicking him.
A security guard stepped in to prise the Cranes In The Sky singer away but, perhaps the most shocking aspect of the whole incident was just how calm Beyonce remained throughout the whole ordeal, barely moving despite the blows Solange was throwing at her husband across her face.
Solange’s son Julez, 18, – full name Daniel Julez J Smith Jr – indulged fans in a Q&A on TikTok and answered all the juicy questions they had, even the most intrusive ones.
When one follower asked the teen outright ‘what happened in the elevator?’, Julez responded in a video: ‘You know me, you know I don’t speak on my family. That’s for y’all to find out. Anything about my family is for y’all to find out somewhere else but it ain’t from me.’
Another inquiring mind wondered: ‘Do you and Beyonce text lol?’ to which Julez said: ‘I feel like everybody text they aunt, I don’t look at it as… of course but that’s just my aunty. Just like how your aunty is just your aunty,’ clearly not phased by his aunt’s superstar status.
With Julez spilling virtually no tea about the iconic elevator situation, one fan joked: ‘Mason would tell us without even having to ask….,’ referring to Kourtney Kardashian’s son Mason who once started telling family business on social media before being banned.
Another laughed: ‘Boooooo we like Mason better. He spils the family tea [sic]!!!! ???? nah but I respect this young man for not exploiting the family drama. Good job King!’
Disappointed with the lack of answers, one quipped referring to Beyonce’s loyal bodyguard: ‘Y’all we gotta ask Julius what happened.’
Beyonce, Jay Z and Solange have in the elevator, likely taking the secret with them forever.
However, the power couple have mentioned the shocking incident in their music, with Beyonce famously singing on her Flawless remix: ‘Of course sometimes s**t go down / when it’s a billion dollars on an elevator.’
She also warns on her Renaissance track Cozy: ‘Might I suggest you don’t f**k with my sis (ooh) / ’Cause she comfortable.’
The trio addressed the incident in a joint statement at the time, which said: ‘As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it.
‘Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologised to each other, and we have moved forward as a united family.’
The statement continued: ‘The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behaviour throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day families have problems, and we’re no different. We love each other, and above all, we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.’
