Bob Saget’s friends and family are reportedly denying claims that the actor complained about suffering from ongoing Covid symptoms before his death.
The at the age of 52, with police investigators surmising that he accidentally hit his head on a headboard inside his Florida hotel room.
It came just hours after Saget performed his final stand-up tour show at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall in Florida.
This week, audio clips of police interviews with tour members reveal how they claimed Saget was still recovering from Covid. The comedian tested positive for the virus in his postmortem despite seemingly recovering from the illness weeks before.
The clips of the interviews conducted by Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
In one, showrunner Rosalie Cocci reportedly told investigators: ‘He said he had long term Covid, and it was taking his body a long time to get over it.
‘He said that his hearing had been off and that was the case that night. He was asking the sound guys to turn everything up. And [he said] that he had been sick the night before – his hearing was off, and he had a sore throat. He was happy he had lozenges for the stage.’
She continued: ‘I did hear him say, “I don’t feel good but I’m ready to do the show. This is what I do this for”. He seemed to be talking himself up.
‘He seemed okay. He was cracking jokes.
‘He wasn’t sweating, he didn’t miss a beat, nothing slurred…He came out very energetic.’
Kevin Stone, 44, vice president for the Forum Theatre in Jacksonville reportedly said that Saget became emotional while performing when he saw a father with three daughters among the audience members.
Stone reportedly said: ‘He kind of teared up. He reminded Bob of him and his three daughters.’
However, one of Saget’s best friends that he was in touch with the TV icon almost daily and there was no mention of him battling with long Covid. The friend also said that Saget never showed any symptoms of being ill.
Saget’s family attorney also said the star’s wife, Kelly Rizzo, spoke to the actor the day he died and he never mentioned being sick or having hearing issues.

In pictures obtained by the publication, the headboard is padded – but investigators said that there is a ‘hard surface underneath’, which they believe he hit his head on, causing a fatal brain bleed.
However, they added that they may never know exactly what caused his death.
