Actress Evans Evans has died aged 91 according to a .

She reportedly passed away on Sunday, June 16, but no further information was given on her death.

Evans lived in Sherman Oaks, , for much of her life after being born in Bluefield, West Virginia on November 26, 1932.

The star was best known for her breakthrough role in the 1967 Bonnie and Clyde film, playing kidnap victim Velma Davis alongside and Faye Dunaway.

Her on-screen partner was , with the pair playing loved-up youths who fall victim to Bonnie and Clyde’s thieving ways.

She also starred in The Twilight Zone and multiple Alfred Hitchcock projects, including Alfred Hitchcock Presents The Big Score and the Alfred Hitchcock Hour: I Saw the Whole Thing.

Evans was married to The Manchurian Candidate director John Frankenheimer, from 1963 until his death in 2002.

They had first met the year before when she starred in his feature film All Fall Down.

In 1989, Evans worked with her husband again when she starred in Dead Bang, another film directed by him.

Away from the silver screen, the actress starred in three Broadway productions during the 50s and 60s; The Dark at the Top of the Stairs, A Distant Bell, and The 49th Cousin.

Her last known acting credit was in 1994, appearing in children’s horror anthology Are You Afraid of the Dark? on Nickelodeon.

Fans have been sharing tributes on X, writing ‘rip’ and sharing condolences for the late star.
