Boyzone stars still missing Stephen Gately ‘dearly’ 15 years after his shock death

have said they are still heartbroken over the death of bandmate more than a decade after .

Gately died 15 years ago today  in Majorca aged 33 from an undiagnosed heart condition.

Three of his bandmates , and have paid tribute to him on the anniversary of his death.

On Instagram, Keith shared archive footage of Gately performing and being interviewed on TV, writing: ‘A Brother’s Heart. Steo, my brother, my friend.

‘It’s been 15 years since you left us, but the memories of you remain as vivid as ever.

‘Your laughter, your spirit, your infectious energy – they’re a constant in my life. I miss you dearly. Love always.’

Ronan shared a picture of Gately and wrote ’15 years’ alongside a broken heart emoji, while Shane posted a group shot of Boyzone from the 90s with the caption: ’76-09-10-10.’ Those numbers symbolise the late singer’s years of birth and death.

Fans also shared their memories of Gately on the social media site, with @vannyssregina writing: ‘Always and Forever in our hearts❤️❤️. Steo will always be missed❤️.’

@becky.phillips3 said: ‘He had amazing stage presence, such a memorable voice. He’ll never be forgotten Kitty. Can’t believe it’s been 15yrs!’

@blackers71 also added: ‘What a voice he had! So sad.. thinking of you guys today, I remember years ago I came to see Boyzone & was lucky to go backstage and Ronan was late as he’d just come off the phone to Steo’s Mum 😢😢💔 xx.’

Gately, Ronan, Keith, Shane and rose to fame as part of the wildly popular in the 1990s.

They have sold 6.3 million albums and 8 million singles in the UK, with 25 million records sold worldwide.

In the UK, they had a total of six number one singles, including A Different Beat, All That I Need and When the Going Gets Tough.

After Gately’s death, the group continued as a four-piece and released a farewell album, Thank You & Goodnight, in 2018.

Keith also formed ‘supergroup’ Boyzlife with Brian McFadden of Westlife – another Irish boyband featuring Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Kian Egan and Nicky Byrne.
