Brenda Edwards shares pride in hearing Prince Charles ‘speak so highly and fondly’ of late son Jamal

Brenda Edwards has revealed her pride at hearing speak highly of her late son, SBTV founder . 

The Loose Women star was invited to meet the Prince of Wales at a reception at to celebrate the Commonwealth Diaspora of the United Kingdom ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Rwanda this week.

Brenda shared a photo of herself shaking hands with Prince Charles as she told her followers the royal had sung the praises of her son Jamal, who was credited with helping to launch the careers of artists including and Jessie J. 

She tweeted: ‘It was an honour to be invited to Buckingham Palace yesterday and to connect with so many wonderful people. 

‘Meeting HRH was surreal, I felt even more pride hearing him speak so highly and fondly of Jamal regarding everything he had achieved with his work at the Princes Trust.’

It comes after Brenda revealed that Jamal had , as she warned of the dangers.

Jamal had died in February at the age of 31 in Brenda’s arms at home and she told her followers: ‘Since I last spoke, I have sadly learned that the cause of Jamal’s devastating passing was due to cardiac arrythmia caused by having taken recreational drugs and I wanted to address this myself to everyone who loved, admired and respected my son.’

Adding that she is still processing the death of her son, Brenda continued: ‘Jamal had the world at his fingertips – a zest for life and he was unwittingly taken away far too soon.

‘Yet we have to come to terms with what happened, and Jamal is proof that this can happen to anyone.

‘These types of substances are extremely unpredictable, and we can only hope that this will encourage others to think wisely when faced with similar situations in the future. His passing has shown that any one bad decision on any one occasion can lead to devastating consequences.’
