Bridgerton’s Simone Ashley felt ‘confident’ filming Kate and Anthony’s raunchy sex scene: ‘It’s a gift for an actor’

’s revealed she felt ‘confident’ filming that racy scene with co-star (Lord Anthony).

The regency drama made its long-awaited debut on March 25 and the classic enemies to lovers trope between Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan) and Kate Sharma (Simone ) has left.

The steamy slow burn between the two protagonists came to a head after Anthony eloquently told Kate: ‘You are the bane of my existence and the object of all my desires.’ Swoon!

But in as the inevitable finally happened in the family garden.

Speaking to about the highly-anticipated build-up, Simone, 27, explained that the scenes are ‘choreographed’ in the same way as a ballroom waltz.

‘It comes from a place of feeling and comfort. I felt very comfortable, confident and safe,’ she said.

‘It’s a gift for an actor, and we [Jonathan] were bouncing off one another in that sense.

‘We were really enthusiastic to bring the story to life and sink our teeth into it,’ she added.

Jonathan, 33, recently on the show, to a slightly stunned Alison Hammond.

During Fridays’ instalment of This Morning, Jonathan – aka The Viscount – explained they use three barriers for ‘safety,’ including a half-inflated netball in the middle during steamy scenes.

As he spoke, he shifted in his seat – with an absolutely buzzing Alison giggling: ‘I thought he was coming over to show me!’

Alison then jumped over onto the couch with Jonathan, where they piled three cushions in front of one another and, to Alison’s pure delight, briefly held hands.

Although viewers were warned beforehand that there were fewer sex scenes this time round, fans have hailed the latest season as the ‘best one yet.’

Reacting on Twitter, one commented: ‘Thank GOD this season didn’t have all those unnecessary sex scenes I honestly never finished the first season or remember it because I thought it was just soft porn lol #bridgerton.’

‘Season 2 is so so much sexier. It doesn’t even need multiple explicit sex scene for it to be over-the-roof STEAMY. The whole of season 2 is soooooo much hotter than season 1, TRUST ME,’ agreed another.
