One audition melted the nation’s hearts tonight as a group of four young boys performed an impressive scooting act.

In fact, they were so impressive that judge vowed that to watch the performance, so he would not be encouraged to perform dangerous tricks.

As the four boys, aged between six and 10, scooted on stage, the audience were ready for an adorable show.

One audience member even to press the golden buzzer before the act had even begun.

What they didn’t quite expect however, was an injury within the first few minutes when one of the contestants’ fell off his scooter and was carried off stage, highlighting the danger of their tricks.

Before they started, Simon commented how ‘dangerous’ the act seemed, with one of the boys proudly confirming: ‘Yeah.’

However, despite the injuries, the boys continued with their act and bravely carried on, awarding them lots of cheers from the audience.

From flipping around mid-air to flying over each-other on stage, the boys left all four judges and the audience clapping and cheering on their feet.

Despite being impressed by their courage and skill, Simon assured that he wouldn’t be allowing his eight-year-old son, who he shares with with partner Lauren Silverman, to perform such acts.

‘That took guts,’ he said, before added: ‘God knows how your parents feel!’

‘You’re all very naughty boys and you must never do that again,’ joked.

‘It was fun,’ said Simon, before adding: ‘I am never letting Eric, my son, watch this audition though.’

Of course, the young stars won four yesses, with David joking: ‘I love seeing children risk their lives for entertainment.’

Recalling that particular audition, Simon told Metro.co.uk and other publications ahead of the episode airing: ‘My God, what if that was Eric? I would be petrified!’

Despite the danger, he said that after the small fall the judges ‘liked them even more because they all just rallied together and supported each other.’

He added that while the injury only lasted seconds on the show, ‘on the actual day it didn’t happen quite as quickly,’ and there were professionals on hand to check that everything was okay.

Simon also noted that children hurting themselves on stage is rare, even though youngsters of course do still have accidents, including his own Eric during skateboarding lessons.

‘I’ve fallen off many things myself,’ Simon admitted, signalling his two recent bike accidents.

‘Eric’s probably more worried about you!’ Alesha Dixon laughed.

Britain’s Got Talent returns tomorrow (Sunday) at 7.35pm on ITV.
