returns for its grand finale tonight, with act Flintz and T4ylor among those hoping to walk away as 2022 champions.
In recent weeks, ITV viewers have watched contestants try and impress , , and enough to make it through each tough stage.
They’ve been hooked as the competition has gradually whittled down, with Sunday night marking the final of this year’s contest.
Forty acts went head-to-head in the semi-finals and for the chance to take away the £250,000 grand prize and a coveted spot at the .
Amber and the Dancing Collies will also have the chance to compete alongside this year’s finalists as the last-minute wild card act.
One act who’ve made it all the way includes rap and piano duo Flintz and T4ylor, who were Alesha’s Golden Buzzer act from the audition stages.
The pair is made up of Flintz, 23, from London, and Taylor, 17, from Birmingham, who told the judges they bonded online during the Covid lockdown.
They madly met for the first time on the day of the audition, after Flintz asked his new pal to come along with him.
However, they weren’t even intending to perform as a two as Flintz recently revealed he was originally there just for moral support.
He said: ‘A week before the audition, I told Taylor to keep it on the down-low but asked if he could help me out with the keys on the piano. He came up with a melody
‘We had one run-through to sound-check. When the producer asked if we both wanted a microphone, it just happened we came out and introduced ourselves and they thought we were a duo and it just worked.’
Taylor added to : ‘I was the unnamed person in the background but everyone liked us as a duo. We clicked as if we had been friends for ages.’
Flintz explained how he’d been writing songs to encourage young people to stay away from gangs, which left Alesha emotional enough to press the Golden Buzzer.
‘I’ve had my knuckles rapped a few times for getting up to mischief when I was younger. Thankfully I’ve never been arrested, just a few wake-up calls that taught me a lesson,’ he said.
He recalled being a ‘naughty kid’ while he was at school, and added: ‘When I look on the news locally, the stuff I hear about the young kids, it worries me, especially for my youngest brother. I’m very protective.
‘I’m grateful for my mum and dad pulling me out of the groups I was in, it could have gone further.’
The pair wowed the audience during the semi-final with their original song Pressure, which sent them comfortably through to tonight’s finale.
But will they manage to walk away with the mega cash prize and spot on the Royal Variety Show?
