American singer Loren Allred was granted the by judge Amanda.

Fans were shocked to discover that Loren was the voice behind Jenny Lind’s (Rebecca Ferguson) groundbreaking ballad Never Enough, which features in the 2017 musical The Greatest Showman – starring Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, and Zendaya.

After the judges were stunned by the revelation, Loren sang the song and received a standing ovation from the panel and the audience.

‘It transcended, it was other worldly,’ said Alesha.

Simon added: ‘This is so well-deserved because seeing somebody else sing that song in that movie and not have the recognition of doing one of the most incredible vocals ever.’

While fans were happy that the star got her moment to shine, others believed that Loren had an over the other hopefuls in the competition.

‘A golden buzzer for a professional singer?? Hasn’t she just finished a tour with Andrea Bocelli and Michael Bublé?? What a crock. The ventriloquist kid doesn’t stand a chance,’ tweeted one viewer.

‘I don’t get it… if Simon wants to sign Loren Allred why doesn’t he just do it? The geezer owns a record label, like… don’t bring her on #BGT please, this is reserved for amateur talent, not someone on the soundtrack of a blockbuster movie,’ added another.

Responding to the backlash, a BGT spokesperson said: ‘We are thrilled to back this year and look forward to viewers watching our BGT bumper special on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Whilst most people will have heard the infamous Greatest Showman track, Loren is not a household name, and she deserves her spot on the BGT stage.

‘We hope that such articles will not count against somebody who is well-deserving of this opportunity.’

With another instalment dropping tonight, who will be joining Loren in the live finals?

Britain’s Got Talent continues on Sunday April 17 at 7.35pm on ITV.
