Britain’s highest paid male model David Gandy has revealed he believed he was so unattractive growing up he couldn’t get any dates.

When made the assumption on his that David was popular with the girls as a teenager, the 42-year-old, who was a guest on the episode shot back with: ‘They were not my good years.

‘I think you have a different impression, I grew out and then up so I wasn’t in my best fighting fit form.’

A stunned Alan then quipped: ‘You were minging?’

To which David responded: ‘Not far off!’

The fashion star also recently told Daily Mail’s Eden Confidential that he is not pleased with how he is ageing.

He said: ‘I’m not particularly happy with the way I’m looking at the moment. I’m not at my fighting weight, as I call it…

‘The two things that scare me is that apparently your ears and nose carry on growing.’

However, the Essex-born star continues to enjoy a succesful career 15 years after becoming a household name.

He first found fame in 2007 thanks to a now iconic Dolce & Gabbana advert in which he wore only a pair of tiny, fitted white underpants.

The image of the tanned star even appeared on a 50-foot billboard in Times Square, New York.

He revealed: ‘I never saw the b****y thing. I’m not wearing much, it’s a big crouch for Times Square and everyone was taking pictures of it but I never got to see it.’  

He has since been dubbed ‘The First Male Supermodel’, starred in fashion campaigns with the likes of , Naomi Campbell and Gisele Bundchen. 

He’s also graced the covers of numerous top fashion magazines such as GQ, bagged lucrative endorsements with the likes of Hugo Boss and Carolina Herrera, as well as being a face of high street brand Marks and Spencer.

David’s luck with the ladies has also long changed as he has dated a fair few stunning women, including former The Saturdays singer, Mollie King.  

David, who clearly enjoyed his candid interview with comedian Alan, took to Instagram on Thursday and told his followers what a ‘huge pleasure it was to take part in @chattyman podcast, had an absolute blast… only problem is trying to talk when you are laughing so much.’

The star, who is worth an estimated £12 million, has daughters Matilda, three, and Tabitha, four months with barrister girlfriend Stephanie Mendoros.

David, has been dating barrister Stephanie for five years and tries to keep their relationship mainly out of the spotlight.
