Did just make a sly dig at her sister ?
The Toxic hitmaker’s younger sibling, 32, has been officially announced as part of the
Jamie joins the likes of , , , , and many more, all ready to face their fears for the nation’s entertainment.
Her signing has been controversial, to say the least, with Britney fans given the pop star’s strained relationship with Jamie Lynn.
And it seems Britney has her own way of showing her disapproval.
Taking to Instagram, the Gimme More singer just minutes after the news broke of Jamie Lynn’s I’m A Celeb stint.
Originally said by Ernest Hemingway, it read: ‘All things truly wicked start from innocence.’
Brit didn’t elaborate any further, captioning the pic with a simple pink flower emoji.
In the comments, however, fans were quick to pick up what they believed she was putting down.
‘Your sister for example!! She’s about to go in the Jungle and us Brits are RUTHLESS.. we’ve got your back hun,’ one fan commented.
‘Hi Brittany I hope you enjoy Jamie Lynn suffering on I’m A Celeb I’ll definitely be putting my votes on her to do EVERY bush tucker trail ??❤️❤️ [sic]’, another penned.
Despite the outpouring of concern from her millions of followers, Britney looks to be keeping her spirits up.
Ahead of the cryptic post, she shared one of her famous dancing videos, having filmed herself spinning around in the living room.
However, she later deleted the clip.
As for Britney and Jamie Lynn’s relationship, it’s no secret that they aren’t as close as they once were.
Back in 2008, Britney, now 41, was placed under , with Jamie Lynn previously hitting out at paparazzi and appearing to be on her sister’s side.
Things got ugly, though, in 2020, when she reportedly sought more control over her sister’s fortune and filed a court request for all the assets of Britney’s SJB Revocable Trust to be moved into one or more ‘blocked accounts’.
The next year, at her conservatorship hearing, Britney detailed an abusive relationship with her father and said she would ‘like to sue my family’ but stopped short of naming any of her relatives in particular.
A few days later Jamie Lynn said she was ‘proud’ of Britney for ‘using her voice’.
‘Since the day I was born, I’ve only loved, adored, and supported my sister,’ she said.
However, in July 2021, the tables turned when Britney called out ‘the people closest to you who never showed up for you’ after her efforts to end the conservatorship had a win in court.
Britney later said her family ‘should all be in jail’ for allowing the conservatorship to continue for so long.
Jamie Lynn went on to deny playing a role in Britney’s conservatorship, once again declaring her love on national TV.
That same month, Britney slammed her sister for trying to ‘sell a book at my expense’ after Jamie Lynn announced her memoir Things I Should Have Said.
Jamie Lynn, of course, hit back: ‘I hate to burst my sister’s bubble, but my book is not about her. I can’t help that I was born a Spears too, and that some of my experiences involve my sister. I’ve worked hard since before I was even a teenager, and I’ve built my career in spite of just being someone’s little sister.’
Over the years the pair have engaged in many public back-and-forths.
Jamie Lynn did not attend Britney’s wedding to Sam Asghari.
This year, the sisters appeared to be mending their relationship after Britney claimed she visited Jamie Lynn on the set of the Zoey 102 reboot in June.
However, last month Britney wrote about her strained relationship with Jamie Lynn in her best-selling memoir, The Woman In Me.
She penned: ‘My sister and I should have found comfort in each other, but unfortunately that hasn’t been the case.
‘As I was fighting the conservatorship and receiving a lot of press attention, she was writing a book capitalising on it.
‘She rushed out salacious stories about me, many of them hurtful and outrageous. I was really let down.’
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2023 kicks off on November 19 on ITV1 and ITVX.
