has wondered aloud if she was truly ‘present’ when she married her husband Sam Asghari.
The Toxic singer, 40, and dancer, 28, were married at Britney’s home, with the ceremony attended by A-listers such as and Selena Gomez.
Sam and Britney first met in 2016 on the set of the Slumber Party music video, for which the singer hand-picked him from a series of images at a casting.
They were then engaged in September 2021 after Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, filed to end her 13-year conservatorship.
Since the controversial legal arrangement was ended, Britney has used her newfound freedom to speak her mind on everything, usually using Instagram as an outlet.
Having previously raged at her now-estranged family who kept her under the conservatorship, and recently revealed she has permanent nerve damage, on Wednesday Britney pondered whether she was really ‘present’ at her wedding to Sam.
‘Wow I got married this year not sure I was honestly that PRESENT because I haven’t had real consciousness in 3 years,’ she wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post.
‘There was a lot of talking and SPEAKING at the party !!!
‘Not for me unfortunately because when you can’t breathe your body cant relax enough to speak !!! (sic).’
Fans had wondered in recent weeks where Britney’s new husband was, as he was no longer featuring in her Instagram posts.
However the star cleared up the confusion this week as she posted a video of her husband working out and said he had just returned from a work trip.
Earlier this week, Britney appeared to respond to Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown, who told Drew Barrymore in a TV interview that she dreamed of playing the Every Time singer in a movie about her life.
Britney however did not seem too happy about it, writing on social media: ‘I hear about people wanting to do movies about my life … dude I’m not dead!!!’
Fans in the comments below rushed to defend Millie, insisting it was a compliment that she wanted to play her in a movie.
The Enola Holmes actress had explained a Britney role was on her bucket list as she relates to parts of her story, having also grown up in the spotlight.
‘I think her story resonates with me. Growing up in the public eye. Watching videos of her, watching interviews of her when she was younger.
‘I see her scramble for words and I don’t know her but when I look at pictures of her I feel I can tell her story in the right way.’
