The second highest ranked player for : Vanguard has admitted to cheating, as they’re erased from the game’s Ranked Play leaderboard.

As if you needed more proof that , its second most successful ranked play competitor has admitted to using cheat software during a recent livestream.

The player known as Pplehx was streaming as normal but while they were spectating, after dying during a Hardpoint match on Tuscan, viewers noticed that they seemed to be using a wallhack, which works like X-ray vision, allowing you to see other players through walls.

As a result, Pplehx was removed from Vanguard’s Ranked Play leaderboard and immediately took to Twitter, , to make their apologies. Which is actually better behaviour than most people caught in the act.

‘I’m sorry for disappointing the community but I have to start by saying I made a mistake last night on stream’, they wrote. ‘Yes, those were blatant boxes and I did get caught but as dumb as the excuse sounds I was honestly started getting the hacks for camos.’

It’s not entirely clear what they’re trying to say but they claim to have only just bought the cheats and to still have the email receipts as proof that this was only a recent lapse.

‘I know this community and none of y’all are going to believe me. I just want to make this an apology,’ they added.

This is hardly the first time something like this has happened in Call Of Duty, with College CoD League player Kenji recently having attempted to prove he doesn’t used cheats and then… accidentally revealing them in action .

Activision’s Ricochet anti-cheat software has made some headway on Warzone but it’s still not available on Vanguard, which is where all these examples come from.

There isn’t even a date for when Ricochet will be added, and it may be that Activision will wait until this autumn’s Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to add it to the paid-for game.
