We’ve heard of celebrity parents saving their placentas to consume as capsules to boost postnatal health (case in point: Rochelle Humes and ) but fashioning your child’s milk teeth into jewellery is a new concept for us.

The 45-year-old TV presenter who has two sons Milo, six, and James, three with comedian Patrick Kielty, has shared details of her ‘slightly macabre’ accessory idea after Milo lost his first tooth.

Speaking on , Cat explained: ‘I’m having a bracelet made at the moment. Now stick with me here – it’s slightly macabre and a bit weird.

‘My eldest child Milo has just started losing his teeth. He’s lost one so far. The tooth fairy came. But she had very little small change and had to give notes.

‘So I am like, ‘What am I going to do with this tooth? I’m going to get him to dip the teeth in gold and attach them one by one to my bracelet.

‘They will dangle and it’ll look nuts.’

Cat has commissioned London-based artist Conor Joseph to create the bracelet, which will feature her son’s milk teeth being dipped in gold.

Joseph has previously created jewellery from finger prints.

‘I’m having a bangle made with their skin on it, and I’m going to get him to dip the baby teeth in gold and then attach them one by one to my bracelet,’ the former SMTV host continued.

She joked: ‘I do have to write to the tooth fairy asking for the tooth back.’

Meanwhile, Cat recently announced that she and close friend radio DJ Edith Bowman have launched a new podcast series for the BBC.

The broadcasters will be joined by celebrity guests, and each week they’ll share friendship highs and lows, swapping happy memories and funny stories.

‘The secret’s out… We’ve got a brand new @bbcradio2 podcast @edibow!!’ Deeley wrote on Instagram. ‘Each week we’ll be chatting to a celebrity and their best mate to find out the stories behind their friendship.’

In a joint statement, the pair wrote: ‘We are so excited about our new project, Friends Will Be Friends. It’s something we came up with that allows us to celebrate our own friendship while exploring the beautiful and unique relationships a friendship can be to us all. Ours has survived time, distance and working together for 20 years. Long may it continue.’
