Snoop Dogg might be Celtic’s most unlikely fan but he’s definitely one of their most enthusiastic.
The rapper has promised the players an all expenses paid party if they win next month so, erm, no pressure lads.
Snoop, whose allegiance dates back to at least 2005 when he was pictured posing with a Celtic shirt, insisted he’ll hop on a flight to if the team are crowned Scottish champions.
‘My Bhoys are not there yet but after their win against Rangers, they are getting close to winning the championship,’ the 50-year-old said.
‘Snoop hasn’t booked his ticket just yet but the passport is out of the safe. As soon as they are champions, you better believe I am on that flight to Glasgow.’
The star added that he will fork out for bottles of champagne and an Indian takeaway if Celtic win, saying: ‘The night is going to go off and whatever they want to do, it’s all going to be on Snoop.’
Snoop has been a long-time fan of the football club, even expressing interest in becoming the director in 2012 (sadly that didn’t happen).
He later said he wanted to
‘I fell in love with the club and what better way to show my support than to be a part of it,’ he explained at the time.
‘I just want to learn more about it and I figured if I become a part of it, I’ll do that. I love sports, I’m athletic. All around the world there are different sports that dictate that part of the world you live in – and I just want to be a part of it.’
Football isn’t the only thing Snoop loves about the UK either.
Just a couple of months ago, , and claimed she stopped him from getting kicked out of the UK.
The Drop It Like It’s Hot rapper said the queen was ‘his gal’ as he revealed she stepped in to stop him from being sent back to the US when he was accused of first-degree murder.
In 1993, Snoop and his bodyguard were arrested after a man was shot dead in Los Angeles, with the rapper charged with murder in the first degree for his death.
The charges would later be dropped, but Snoop, who was on tour in the UK at the time, faced growing calls for him to be removed from the country.
He told DJ Whoo Kid: ‘This was while I was fighting a murder case and over [in the UK] doing shows.’
‘But guess who came to my defence?,’ he continued. ‘Just take a guess.’
‘The queen! She said “This man has done nothing in our country. He can come.” Bow down… when the queen speak, bow down.’
