The World frontman stars as James Reece in the action series, who returns home after his entire platoon of Navy SEALs gets ambushed. However, he soon discovers new dark forces working against him and endangering the ones he loves.
From the synopsis alone, the series – which is based on the best-selling novel by Jack Carr – sounds thrilling, especially as .
However, critics weren’t captivated by the action.
On review site , The Terminal List has been given positive reviews by just 37% of critics, with the critics’ consensus reading: ‘While Chris Pratt fully commits himself to The Terminal List’s mission, this thriller’s unrelenting gruffness is no meat and all potatoes.’
While dubbed it a ‘miserable sit that would be tough to take as a two-hour film.’
Chris on the other hand, took the time to highlight the programme’s streaming success by reposting an article that read: ‘Chris Pratt’s new Navy thriller The Terminal List defies woke critics’ scathing reviews to shoot up ratings chart with 1.6 BILLION minutes of streams.’
In a separate post he uploaded a pic of Mike Myers as Dr. Evil in the Austin Powers films, and wrote: ‘One point six BILLLLLLLLLION minutes,’ implying that viewers have watched at least 1.6 billion minutes of the thriller.
While critics weren’t in love with The Terminal List, viewers couldn’t get enough of it as it received positive reviews from 93% of audiences on Rotten Tomatoes – a stark contrast to the 37% of critics.
One fan described the show as ‘an action-packed rollercoaster with a great and gritty style’, adding that they ‘couldn’t stop watching’ thanks to the ‘great story, solid acting’ and how it ‘keeps you guessing up until the end.’
Another viewer wrote: ‘This is the best TV show to come out in a while. Chris does an amazing job playing the part of a navy seals commando, taking vengeance on those who Ki**ed his team. I was on the edge of my seat the entire season. I dunno what’s up with the critics, but they are completely out of touch with the audience and reality. I watched it twice back to back. Great show.’
