The two stars will perform at the O2 Arena together on Saturday, September 3 in a show produced by Live Nation, with the gig described as a ‘night of world-class comedy.’
Dave and Chris’s unique partnership was seemingly borne out of their shared experience of being attacked on stage in separate incidents in the past few months, with both comedians speaking out about the importance of on-stage safety for comedians in live performances.
As Chappelle, 48, performed his set at the Netflix Is A Joke festival at The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles last month after and lunged for him.
Rock was and was filmed on video hugging Chappelle after the attack, while joking: ‘Was that Will Smith?’ in a nod to his own on-stage run-in.
The star was in March, after he made a joke about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, who suffers from alopecia.
As a result of the event, the Academy banned Smith (who won best actor that same evening for his performance in King Richard) for 10 years from the prestigious event.
The Men in Black star has since apologised for his actions and labelled them ‘embarrassing’ and ‘shocking.’
He wrote on Instagram: ‘I would like to publicly apologise to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.’

Rock told the Los Angeles police that he didn’t want to press any charges.
Meanwhile, Chapelle’s alleged attacker has been and pleaded not guilty to them all.
