However, according to , Chris is ‘not concerned with the Smiths at the moment’, as he’s busy ‘touring and he’s preparing for a comedy special’.
The source added that the comedian is ‘the most genuine person ever’ and ‘is not caught up in the Hollywood scene –Â he is focusing on himself.’
Speaking about the altercation for the first time, Jada previously told viewers: ‘Now about Oscar night, my deepest hope is that these two intelligent, capable men have an opportunity to heal, talk this out and reconcile.Â
‘The state of the world today, we need them both. And we all actually need one another more than ever. Until then, Will and I are continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years, and that’s to keep figuring out this thing called life together. Thank you for listening.’
Chris has yet to officially speak publicly about the slap, although.
Following the incident, Will – who won the best actor Oscar for his role in King Richard moments after – stepped down as a member of the Academy, and issued an apology to Chris.
He was later banned from attending the ceremony for 10 years, and has kept a low profile ever since.
He also apologised to Chris in a statement he released on Instagram.
‘I would like to publicly apologise to you, Chris,’ he said at the time. ‘I was out of line and I was wrong.’
