CM Punk has been directly asked about rumours he could return to at Survivor Series.
The former world champion, whose contract was (AEW) last month just days after a backstage altercation at  Stadium with boss Tony Khan and , has been linked with a sensational move.
After weeks of speculation, Punk has been asked if he will in his hometown of on November 25.
Responding to a caller question on , he paused for a moment before saying: ‘They’re asking if I’m going to be there? I think it’s sold out. I think are hard to get.’
While the 45-year-old wrestling legend’s answer appears like he is saying he’d need a ticket to go as he’s not returning, he didn’t directly refute the idea, meaning the rumour mill is still running rampant.
He was also asked if he would perform for WWE again, and while Punk – real name Phil Brooks – insisted he didn’t ‘want to burst anybody’s bubble’, he suggested he has other priorities at this moment.
He explained that his dog Larry is suffered with an injury and he’s spending a lot of time focusing on his beloved pet’s recovery.
‘I don’t want to burst anybody’s bubble. I’m kind of just sitting at home and enjoying this beautiful Chicago weather. I have an injury in the family. My dog [Larry] blew his dog ACL,’ he added.
‘I’m literally just spending my time with him. I know that sounds crazy, but he is my son, and I take care of him and treat him as such. Everything has kind of stopped.
‘I’m fortunate to take time off from everything. I’ve canceled things I have coming up. Traveling is hard. It’s tough to leave him here with my wife April [AJ Lee]. If there are two of us here taking care of him, it’s easier.’
Punk did leave WWE under acrimonious circumstances in 2014, as he walked out and was later served documents confirming his release on his wedding day, while in 2018 a judge ruled in his and former friend Colt Cabana’s favour in a defamation lawsuit filed by then-WWE doctor Christopher Amann.
It appeared bridges have been burned, but his  and the passing of time had people thinking there is business to be done, although recent reports have suggested a deal hadn’t been agreed.
Asked about the possibility last month, told : ‘Listen, we only have respect for Phil. We appreciate his run here. We appreciate what he did and tried to do with the UFC. Not many people can actually get in there and do what he did.’
As well as Punk’s legendary run in WWE, he was also referencing his two UFC fights which included a submission loss to Mickey Gall seven years ago.
He added: ‘So, when we have respect for Phil, we wish him nothing but the best.’
