has admitted that despite being a supporter of the monarchy she was ‘uncomfortable’ over the weekend due to its cost, as herspent 20 hours waiting to be seen by the ‘broken’ NHS in a hospital.
The cost of the Coronation celebrations has been estimated at anything from £100 – 200million, which the panellist said she also wasn’t happy about considering the fact ‘that people are struggling to eat’.
Her musician sister Linda, 64, is currently , after an original breast cancer diagnosis in 2006 and one of incurable secondary breast cancer in 2017 and was forced to deny on Friday that she had online.
Discussing the coronation on Monday’s episode of Loose Women, Coleen revealed: ‘It’s really weird for me because I am a royalist and I’ve always loved the weddings.
‘Whenever people have gone, “They’re a waste of time and it’s a waste of money”, I’ve always been very much like, “It’s amazing and it’s history and everyone’s celebrating” – but actually, through the whole thing this weekend, I felt really uncomfortable, I have to say.’
‘And that’s because of the state that we’re all in and the economy and the fact that people are struggling to eat,’ she added.
The 58-year-old said it was ‘the first time’ she had ‘watched all the pomp and circumstance’ and had doubts.
Revealing her personal reasons, The Nolans star said thatover the weekend on separate occasions – including Linda – and really struggled.
‘My sister who is, as we know, very ill – she had to go to hospital and was in A&E for 20 hours before anyone saw her,’ Coleen stated.
‘And, of course, I’m the watching this spectacle going, “It’s all very well saying it brought £300m in for that sector [hospitality], but can we please bring that in for the NHS because it’s dying?’

Although she was still full of praise for how the ‘spectacle’ was pulled off, the TV personality also spoke about the power of choice.
She added: ‘Someone told me it was the equivalent of us all giving £5 towards it. In the grand scheme of things, it’s only £5, but it’s £5 we weren’t asked if we wanted to give, and if we were going to give it, maybe 66million of us would have given it to the NHS because we’d have had a choice?’
