Gadd’s controversial seven-part drama has already had 85,900,000 viewers, trailing just behind season 2, which has been available to stream for over two years, by 7 million views.
Essentially, it looks pretty certain to surpass the enormously popular racy period drama and is catching up with other Netflix juggernauts, including Stranger Things 3 and The Night Agent season one.
on Netflix, reaching 252,100,000 since its release in 2023 ahead of Stranger Things season 4 on 140,700,000.
Squid Game remains the most viewed show ever on the platform, with 265,000,000 views, while Money Heist and Lupin both boast more than 90,000,000 views too.
Gadd celebrated the colossal milestone on Instagram sharing a picture of the top 10, alongside the caption: ‘Baby Reindeer has been out now for three months. It has been crazy. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect it to take off like this.
‘That this weird show about my f**ked up life would go on to be one of the most successful Netflix shows of all time.
‘I am grateful to everyone who took the time to watch it, like it, say nice words, or call me horrendous slurs. I love each and every one of you.’
Baby Reindeer follows Donny (played by and based on Gadd) who is hounded by stalker Martha (Jessica Gunning).
Martha infiltrates every corner of Donny’s life, turning up to his work daily, worming her way into his house, and eventually sexually assaulting him.
