BBC Three has announced the official premiere date of – and we haven’t got long to wait.
The upcoming series stars Alison Oliver as Frances, a 21-year-old college student, who – along with her best friend and ex-girlfriend Bobbi (Sasha Lane) – crosses paths with a couple who will have a huge impact on their lives.
While performing spoken word poetry together in Dublin, Frances and Bobbi meet writer Melissa (Jemima Kirke), who is intrigued by the two friends, as well as her husband Nick (Joe Alwyn), an actor.
the attraction between Frances and Nick is evident, which leads to them engaging in a covert, lustful affair.
However, fans also saw Melissa and Bobbi getting pretty close. Complicated much!
To celebrate the show’s official premiere date – which is May 15 – the channel uploaded a cheeky preview on Twitter.
The updated clip shows us the moment Nick and Frances meet for the first time, and their longing looks come to an abrupt halt when Bobbi walks in.
Conversations with Friends was the debut novel published by Sally in 2017 before Normal People came out the following year.
Just like the adaptation of the BBC drama which starred Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar Jones, fans of the books are excited to see the book characters come to life.
For actress Alison, this marks her first on-screen role, having featured in productions such as The Merchant of Venice and The Comedy of Errors during her time at drama school, having graduated in 2020 with a BA in Acting.
Fans might also recognise Joe’s name due to him being in a relationship with the multi-award-winning singer, Taylor Swift.
In 2020, he co-produced and co-wrote several songs with the Wildest Dreams hitmaker, such as Exile and Betty for her album Folklore.
Conversations With Friends premieres on May 15 on BBC Three and Hulu.
