The hugely-popular long-running drama follows officers in the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) as they explore the behaviour of criminals.
The 16th season, which will run on , will focus on officers in the BAU as they are faced with their greatest threat yet, a criminal who has used the pandemic and lockdown to build up a network of serial killers.

Sharing a glam snap on Twitter, the 53-year-old actress said: ‘Oh, hi Guys !! This is my first @criminalminds hair and make up from this morning….
‘I hope you’re all excited for a slightly older, sassier, no filters, grey-haired Prentiss. And if you aren’t, that’s cool, just tell someone else.’
Fans were quick to share their excitement over the reboot, with one writing: ‘Welcome back. I’ve missed Criminal Minds. My favourite show.’
‘Crying I am so excited,’ another penned.
A third added: ‘This tweet makes me so happy. It’s wonderful to see how excited you all are to get back to Criminal Minds. Thank you for giving us Prentiss!!’
Viewers were also praising the Community star for embracing her silver locks, with one telling the Massachusetts-born performer she looked ‘fantastic.’
A follower said: ‘Paget, you look gorgeous. Thank you for not hiding behind the hair dye and showing that women with gray can still look just as competent and beautiful as women that don’t have one gray hair on their head.’
‘You are SO PRETTY, Paget! Your grey hair makes you even more fabulous and I’m grateful Hollywood recognizes that,’ a Criminal Minds lover added.
Also joining Paget back on the show are fan favourites Joe Mantegna (David Rossi), Kirsten Vangsness (Penelope Garcia), Adam Rodriguez (Luke Alvez), A.J. Cook (JJ Jareau), Aisha Tyler (Tara Lewis).

Responding to a fan on Twitter, Brewster said last summer: ‘Sadly, we think it’s dead. I’ll let you know if there is any progress, but it seems unlikely. Which is a bummer.’
However, in February Tanya Gills – chief of programming for ViacomCBS – revealed the show was ‘’ and the series was ‘alive and well.’
