We all know by now that likes to drop hints and leave clues for fans and it seems even the are in on it – with Taylor Lautner also playing games.
Swifties have been steadily losing their minds as the musician appeared to be building towards an announcement with some majorly cryptic posts – and all has now been revealed.
Fans were devouring every post and rumour to discover what her next steps will be, and ex boyfriend, Twilight star Lautner, also stoked the fires by sharing a mysterious post from the Grammy Museum.
After already cementing himself as the ‘best ex’ by for her Speak Now re-release, Lautner recently shared a snap to his Instagram story showing a shot from her I Can See You music video, specifically the part where ‘boy Taylor’ and Joey King reach the vault in which the Anti-Hero singer is trapped.
Grammy Museum helpfully captioned the picture with two emojis – a museum and a lock.
And now it’s been revealed that the Grammy Museum is launching an I Can See You (Taylor’s Version) pop-up exhibition, a must-see for dedicated Swifties in the US.
Fan site Taylor Nation announced the news on Twitter, asking: ‘What would you do if the launched an “I Can See You (Taylor’s Version)” pop-up in LA?
‘Unlock the vault at this surprise exhibit featuring 13 artefacts from the music video!’
The pop-up is now open and will be available to visit until September 18.
Fans had gone into overdrive trying to work out what the post could possibly mean – with many believing it had something to do with her re-releasing old tracks from her back catalogue.
Taylor has been steadily moving through her albums, re-recording and releasing a ‘Taylor’s Version’ for those originally recorded under Scooter Braun and Big Machine Records.
So far Fearless, Red and Speak Now have been re-released, with Reputation, 1989 and her debut self-titled album left to go.
The August singer changed her social media back to Midnights from Speak Now, raising suspicions from her fans because Miss Swift does everything for a reason.
One major clue came from the SoFi Stadium as Los Angeles prepares to welcome Taylor for her last location on the US tour.
A picture tweeted by the stadium showed a lifeguard hut with 1989 (Taylor’s Version) written on the side, leaving fans wondering if there was more to the upcoming announcement.
The Grammy’s post, pushed by the Twilight star, seemingly solidified the fan theory as the last time Taylor was at the Grammy Museum was to perform 1989, back in 2016.
Fans were divided over whether a 1989 Taylor’s Version was set to be the announcement, as the star had also tweeted on August first: ‘Get in the car it’s August’.
It led to some believing ‘get in the car’ is a reference to Reputation song Getaway Car, while others were convinced it was another 1989 hint as during the I Can See You music video, Taylor jumps in a van, which speeds off – past a sign which appears to read 1989.
Swifties were even convinced they knew the date the announcement of 1989 TV would be coming: Her last date in LA is August 9, which in American formatting reads ‘8/9’, the last numbers of 1989.
Another theory suggested instead it will be August 8 due to the blue colouring on the date on her Eras Tour poster – blue being the chosen colour for that album.
And while the revelation of a pop-up museum exhibition has sent fans wild, there are a few who were disappointed there’s still no sign of 1989.
As one person wrote under Taylor Nation’s post: ‘Read the room… we’re getting ready for 1989!’
But there’s no question Taylor has plenty more up her sleeve, and there’s always the chance of another – we can’t wait!
