DaBaby has been named in a lawsuit accusing him of felony battery in December 2021.
The rapper is facing criminal charges after reportedly beating a property manager while on set for a music video in Los Angeles.
It is claimed that property manager Gary Pagar tried to stop and his team from filming on his property, but things soon got out of hand.
The lawsuit , with CCTV footage recently emerging from an incident in 2018, which led to him shooting and killing a young man.
Now, reports that DaBaby has been charged with felony battery by the LA County District Attorney’s Office after Pagar was supposedly left with serious injuries following an altercation with the star.
Another man, named Thankgod Awute, has also been charged, with prosecutors claiming he was DaBaby’s partner in crime and accusing him of felony robbery.
The lawsuit was filed in February of this year, with the property manager claiming he was attacked for enforcing basic property rental rules at his mansion, which the musician and his crew rented for the shoot.
Pagar claims he was told it was going to be a holiday home for DaBaby and his friends, with the property manager saying he made it clear that no more than 12 guests were allowed, which DaBaby’s management are said to have agreed to.
DaBaby was staying at the pad for a week, during which time Pagar became aware that more than 12 people were staying, complaining to his team as a result.
He claims the managers assured him the group wouldn’t be there for long, but Pagar decided to visit the property himself on December 2, at which time he realised they were shooting a video with a large-scale production.
He claims a whole film crew was present – upwards of 40 people – and the property manager tried to talk to DaBaby to shut production down.
He says he was then attacked by someone in DaBaby’s team, which was caught on video.
While DaBaby is said to have told his team member to get off Pagar, the rapper then allegedly punched him in the face and knocked one of his teeth out.
Pagar then reported the incident to the authorities, with DaBaby or his team yet to comment on what happened.
This lawsuit comes after DaBaby’s ‘self defence’ claims were seemingly contradicted when four years ago, which saw 19-year-old Jaylin Craig die at a Walmart.
The musician always maintained that he acted to protect himself and his family – since he was with his partner and children at the time – by shooting Craig, but has remained tight-lipped on the details.
Reps for DaBaby have been contacted for comment.
