Dan, who has recently moved to 5 News from BBC Breakfast, was clearly getting a bit fed of the negativity and shared his thoughts with his social media followers.

He wrote on Instagram: ‘Will never get my head round the “never heard of them” crew when you see someone announced on #Strictly you don’t know much about.

‘Get on Google, learn a bit about them.’
