The star and Danielle announced on this evening with a gorgeous video.
In the black and white slow motion video, the Loveable Rogues singer, 30, and dancer Danielle, 35, looked the picture of happiness as they chilled out at home.
The radio presenter held Danielle’s pregnant stomach tenderly, as the pair hugged, kissed and laughed together, relishing the happy moment.
It came as a shock to fans, and Danielle – – admitted they’ve been keeping their exciting news a secret from her one million Instagram followers, enjoying the baby bubble while it lasts.
But it’s a secret no longer, and the pair promised to share their journey into parenthood as openly as possible, documenting the highs and not brushing over the lows.
Having revealed they are expecting their new addition in spring 2024, the pair didn’t let the moment pass without acknowledging those reading the happy post who might be going through fertility struggles.
‘We’re having a baby,’ they said in the joint message. ‘It’s a secret we’ve been keeping for a while, enjoying this little bubble of excitement and preparing for our biggest adventure so far.
‘But now we feel ready to share this journey with you, including the highs (and inevitable tantrums) it will bring. Arriving Spring 2024.
‘We can’t post this without acknowledging those who may be struggling with fertility or pregnancy issues and are sending love to anyone affected.’
Fans were over the moon, as Instagram user x.ntasha commented: ‘This is the best news of 2024 so far that I’ve seen on instagram. Huge congratulations to the both of you ❤️.’
‘Congratulations!!!! omggg!! I’m so happy for you! You are going to be the best mom!,’ wrote another follower, isasobrinoa.
News came the pair were in a relationship in 2023, a year after Sonny- who won Dancing On Ice in 2021 – split from music producer fiancé Lauren Faith in June 2022, having proposed two years before.
The What Makes You Beautiful hitmaker and Danielle met on The X Factor in 2010 when she was a dancer on the show, and they went out for two years before calling it quits.
At the time Liam said he was ‘devastated’ by the break up.
They were then spotted together again in 2022, leaving a hotel in the early hours in June.
Danielle previously opened up on social media about feeling ‘safe’ in her relationship with Sonny after ‘years of mistreatment’.
In one post, she said: ‘This video isn’t to say that meeting someone will solve all of life’s problems, it’s possible to be 100 per cent happy and content being single or in whatever situation works for you.
‘But after years of mistreatment, I learned that the reason I’d accepted so little from guys is because I hadn’t put in the work on myself to discover my boundaries, find my confidence and also know my worth.
‘Without even realising that I’d evolved, I met Sonny, and I didn’t even need to express my morals, standards or desires in a relationship. He just gets it. He gets me, and I’ve never felt safety in a relationship like this.
‘So much so, that I feel proud to share a private segment of my life with my online community, something I haven’t done for years, if ever in this way.’
