Demi Moore volunteers adorable chihuahua Pilaf for World Record title after shortest dog unveiled

Demi Moore’s adorable dog is giving a Guinness World Record-holding pup a run for her money, and we back them all the way.

Earlier this week,, and was measured against a $1 bill to gain the trophy.

However, the Ghost actress – – was having absolutely none of it, and suggested her little Pilaf deserved the crown.

Taking to Instagram, the 60-year-old held a $100 note beside her own chihuahua, proving that Pearl may have some competition on her hands.

‘@guinnessworldrecords just announced the World’s Shortest Dog today,’ she wrote. ‘I don’t know about you but I think Pilaf might give Pearl a run for her money! Should we submit @pilaf.littlemouse??’

Demi’s famous pals got in on the action, declaring their support for Pilaf in the comments below.

‘NOT THE BENJAMIN,’ her daughter, Tallulah – who she shares with ex-husband Bruce Willis – yelled, before adding: ‘You are truly a legend.’

Helena Christensen agreed: ‘But of course!’

Katie Couric proved that she was also team Pilaf, penning: ‘Yes!!! J’adore @pilaf.littlemouse.’

The newly-crowned Pearl is actually related to the previous record holder, Miracle Milly.

According to the World Records, she weighs in at 1.22lb, 12.7cm in length and at 9.14 cm in height – and is shorter than an ice lolly stick.

Her owner, Vanesa Semler said of the pooch: ‘We’re blessed to have her, and to have this unique opportunity to break our own record and share with the world this amazing news.’

Something tells us Pearl may have some stiff competition soon…
