Diplo has won his case against a woman who allegedly made threats of revenge porn, with the music producer in line for $1.2million (£1million) pay out.
The Major Lazer star filed a lawsuit against Shelly Auguste claiming she was harassing him, threatening to release revenge porn and making contact with his family members, including the mother of his child.
It stems from 2019, when Diplo – rea l name Thomas Wesley Pentz – shared what he insists was a consensual relationship with Auguste. When the romance ended, Diplo claims Auguste began harassing him and his family with his nude photos.
This week, Diplo reportedly asked the Los Angeles Superior Court to confirm the monetary award that was stated by the arbitrator following his lawsuit against Auguste.
He was awarded $1.2m which includes damages, attorney fees and other costs.
Reacting to the news, Diplo’s lawyer Freedman said: ‘We are all extremely pleased for Wes [Diplo] and his family. What happened here is simple. The arbitrator looked at all the facts. She evaluated the evidence impartially. And justice prevailed.’
Diplo’s legal team described his accuser as an ‘obsessive and unstable fan’ who allegedly tried to exploit their consensual relationship, which reportedly amounted to one time.

The hitmaker previously addressed the situation at length in an Instagram post, in which he explained: ‘I will keep this story easy to read because I know the internet has a short attention span, and it was my goal to never address a stalker.
‘I will refer to her as “SA” (and you can find anything easily online) she was an obsessed fan of mine, and after I relinquished all contact with her, it appears that her only purpose in life has been to disrupt my work, my business, harass me and my close friends and attack me and threaten my family.
‘To be clear, SA was not a minor when I had conversations or sexual intercourse with her. Her own text messages admit this.
‘I had a night of consensual sex with her. Basically, SA reached out to me and I declined a few times but at one time decided to meet her. After that experience, we had exchanged texts for a few months, there was small talk, sexual flirting, she would send me pics and videos.’
‘Eventually it got too much to handle and, I stopped contact with her when I realized she had started to become obsessed with me, it began a nightmare of almost three years of her harassing and threatening me my family and my friends.’
It’s said that a judge still needs to officially sign off on confirmation of Diplo’s damages of $1.2m.
