Doctor Who fans already sobbing as heartbreaking David Tennant moment teased

fans are gearing up for an emotional time as they prepare to farewell yet again.

To mark the show’s 60th anniversary, a series of three specials have been airing ahead of the next full series, which , premiering next year.

David, who across three seasons between 2005 and 2010, .

He was also been joined by former co-star as companion Donna Noble.

But ahead of the third special, The Giggle, hitting screens, fans of the long-running series are already preparing themselves for emotional turmoil.

On Thursday the show’s official Instagram page shared a post of David during his last appearance as the Tenth Doctor in 2010, and then him regenerating again in this weekend’s episode.

In both he is shown looking emotional as he regenerates.

‘Here we go again… 🔥 #DoctorWho,’ it read.

However, many fans have made it clear they aren’t prepared to say goodbye again just yet.

‘I’m not ready! Give me another six episodes of David and Catherine please,’ one viewer commented.

‘No. I’m still not over the last time he regenerated,’ someone else wrote.

Another added: ‘I’m not ready, he’s going to break my heart all over again.’

Meanwhile another viewer offered showrunner Russell T Davies an ultimatum.

‘If he says I’m ready to go this Saturday Russell mate you will need to pay for my therapy for the rest of my life,’ they shared.

Despite the impending heartbreak, others did share their excitement for the next series.

‘I will miss David Tennant, but I’m really looking forward to Nucti Gatwa as the new Doctor. I’m looking forward to the era.’

While not much is known about the final special, it will feature Neil Patrick Harris as the Toymaker, a menace from the distant past of the Doctor’s history.

Also set to appear are UNIT leader Kate Lethbridge Stewart (Jemma Redgrave), who is slated to get her own spin-off, Charlie De Melo (Coronation Street) as Charles Banerjee, and Alexander Devrient (Ted Lasso) as Colonel Ibrahim.

It will also feature John Mackay (The Hollow Crown) as historical figure John Logie Baird, who invented an early form of television.

The final Doctor Who special, The Giggle, airs on Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One.
