Doja Cat doubles down on decision to quit music after issuing apology

has yet again confirmed that she is quitting music after making the bold statement before following up with an apology.

The 26-year-old Say So hitmaker, who has over 22 million followers on Instagram, last week changed her Twitter name to ‘I quit’ after she faced a barrage of criticism from her fans in Paraguay.

After one of her performances was cancelled at the Asunciónico festival due to adverse weather conditions, fans accused her of failing to interact with them outside her hotel.

Shortly afterwards, , who was also billed for the festival, when her plane was struck by lightning on her way to her show there.

In response, the American rapper – real name Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini – , which have since been deleted, in which she wrote: ‘I f***ing quit I can’t wait to f***ing disappear and I don’t need you to believe in me anymore.

‘Everything is dead to me, music is dead, and I’m a f***ing fool for ever thinking I was made for this this is a f***ing nightmare. Unfollow me.’

She added: ‘This s*** ain’t for me so I’m out. Y’all take care.’

On Instagram, the rapper also shared a screenshot of her horoscope, which showed she would face ‘unexpected opposition’.

However, on Monday, Doja took back her previous promise to quit the industry, and tweeted an apology to her fans.

She wrote: ‘I can travel, I can eat good food, I can see new people, I can smile, I can make memories that I dreamed of having, I can laugh, I can support my family and my friends, I can learn about the world, and I can give back to everyone because of you.

‘I do owe people sh**. I owe a lot.’

In a subsequent tweet, she continued: ‘I owe myself a lot too. I owe myself the chance to open up and be good to people. I owe myself the death of my fears that don’t allow me to expand my heart. I didn’t come to another country to do something i can do everywhere else. that would be pointless in a way.’

Now, in another U-turn, the rap star has changed her stance yet again by doubling down on her original comments.

Taking to Twitter, the Neighbourhood Talk hitmaker responded to a tweet from the Florida radio station MIX 105.1 that speculated on whether she was quitting music.

In a now deleted tweet, she wrote: ‘Yes the f*** I am’.

Last year, Doja Cat revealed that she was unhappy with the way that the music industry is run and how it made her feel.

During an Instagram Live, she revealed that she felt she was being forced into doing things she didn’t want to do.

Earlier this month, that will run from July to September.
