Donnie Wahlberg is open to starring in another reality series with his wife Jenny McCarthy, but it won’t feature their children who ‘don’t love’ the cameras in their home.Â
The New Kids on the Block star and wife Jenny, a judge on , invited the public into their relationship in the 2015 reality show Donnie Loves Jenny.
It explored their lives as newlyweds after tying the knot in 2014, and opened with an hour-long episode featuring their wedding.
Donnie Loves Jenny ran for three seasons until 2016 and the couple could bring the cameras inside their marital home again – but with one major stipulation.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Donnie, 52, said: ‘I’m certainly not opposed to doing reality television, I’m not sure about in my house again.Â
‘Jenny and I knew with all the camera intrusions that it would be challenging, so we made a commitment to always stay communicative through all of that and we set out to make a show showing our love and not our conflicts.’
However, he revealed: ‘We did fine with it, it’s just our children didn’t really love it very much, they didn’t love having the cameras around.
‘If her and I were to do another reality show, it would maybe have to be about us empty nesting, because we couldn’t do it until the children are grown and out of the house, because they do not like it.’
Donnie is father to two children; Xavier, 29, and Elijah, 20, from his previous marriage to Kimberley Fey, while Jenny has a son, Evan, 19, with ex-husband John Mallory Asher.
Jenny, 49, won’t be the only member of Donnie’s family he could be sharing screen time with, as the Blue Bloods actor revealed he plans on finally
The Wahlberg brothers have dominated TV and film separately but are yet to share the bill on their own film.
Giving fans the what they want to hear, Donnie told us: ‘I think we will do a movie together for sure, at some point. Both of us when we started out acting coming from music, we were both so focused on overcoming the concept that musicians can’t be good actors. So I think he got very focused on trying to break that very stereotype, and I did too.
‘We got really entrenched in our own journey of trying to make it in a different field that we were known for. So both of us didn’t really think about working together because we were so trying to be able to consistently work individually.
‘I think as we get older, if the right opportunity comes up we would absolutely do something together.’
He added: ‘I love drama and [starring] in Blue Bloods being dramatic. But Mark and I have made each other laugh our whole lives so I’d love to see what we could do with something comedic.
‘I don’t want to say a buddy cop movie but a buddy movie for sure.’
Until then, Donnie and New Kids on the Block have returned with a new single, Bring Back The Time, which throws it back to the ‘80s and features Rick Astley, En Vogue and Salt-N-Pepa.
