Drake has reflected on his life-changing audition for Degrassi: The Next Generation, revealing that he was high during the tryout.
The One Dance star, 36, came to fame as a teenager, playing basketballer .
He then shot to superstardom with his music career, releasing hits including The Motto, Take Care and God’s Plan.
In a new post on Instagram, the rapper opened up about his biggest fears in life and spoke of his rise to the top when he was just 15.
‘Someone asked me the other night what my biggest fear is, and I’ve never really had a good answer for it, but my answer was that all this is for nothing,’ Drake began.
‘The idea that one day, life ends and it just all goes black. And I guess that question sent me obviously deep into a spiral of thought.
‘It makes me think about my life and how surreal it feels at times. I go back to this day when I was 13 or 14. I had an audition for a TV show that ultimately shaped my life.
‘Before my audition, I went to this kid’s house and I, out of, I guess, a desire to be accepted, I would succumb to peer pressure, and I got high with these kids right before my audition.
‘I wonder if something bad happened that day or maybe I’m still high, maybe I’m in some coma, and this is just me playing out my ideal life. That concept has stuck with me for a lot of years.
‘I mean, it feels like reality, it feels tangible. But I definitely wonder sometimes.’
Alongside the upload, he simply wrote: ‘It’s all a blur tonight.’
Drake was on Degrassi for eight years until 2009 and starred as budding athlete Jimmy, whose life was shattered when he was shot by a fellow classmate.
The incident left the character paralyzed from the waist down and in a wheelchair.
Although he bowed out in 2009, in 2018, in the music video for I’m Upset.
As well as this, he was joined by a string of his former co-stars, including Nina Dobrev and Lauren Collins – for the clip.
