Finally, has come back to and SmackDown fans loved getting a glimpse of the Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment.
That’s right, Dwayne Johnson himself was back on the blue brand in a shock appearance as he laid out Austin Theory to give the crowd a moment they’ll never forget.
Almost four years after his last surprise return – which saw him team up with Becky Lynch to– The Rock was on fire and wowed the fans like only he can.
The night started with old rivals Theory and Pat McAfee trading words before the latter pointed out that they were on ‘the People’s Show’, prompting The Rock’s music to hit as the crowd went absolute wild.
told the former United States Champion to shut up, throwing his jacket into the crowd and hitting his catchphrase as he shouted: ‘Finally, The Rock as come back, to Denver!’
Theory’s own attempt was met with a chorus of boos, as he quipped: ‘Finally… the ignorant people get to see The Rock and Austin back in the ring again one last time. Only this time, it’s not boring old Stone Cold, it’s a real Austin.’
He even interrupted The Rock with an ‘It doesn’t matter what The Rock says,’ but it didn’t go well for him from there.
‘You see, it actually does matter what The Rock says. And it actually does matter, more importantly than what The Rock says, what the People say. You bring up Stone Cold Steve Austin, that’s The Rock’s boy,’ the Great One teased.
‘but if he were here right now, this is what he would say. If you wanna see me beat this jabroni’s ass, gimme a hell yeah!’
He called Theory an A-hole and led the crowd in a hastily-censored chant which put the production team to work, before offering a ‘lesson’ to the upstart.
‘Here’s The Rocks theory,’ he joked. ‘In three seconds, The Rock is gonna whoop your candy ass all over Denver.’
Despite Theory going on the attack, he was instantly laid out with the Spinebuster followed by the first People’s Elbow since 2019, with Dwayne urging McAfee to hit one of his own for good measure.
Elsewhere during the show, The Rock and fellow wrestler turned actor John Cena – who is currently back for an extended two month run on SmackDown – shared a sweet moment backstage as Cena welcomed him ‘home’.
