’s daughter Ava made her in-ring debut in front of a packed crowd at NXT Stand & Deliver.
Teaming with her Schism allies, the 21-year-old star – whose – lost in the Kickoff match against Chase U and showed some promise in the ring.
Fan reaction online was mixed, but most seemed to agree she has plenty of potential to grow considering it was her first match and took place on WrestleMania weekend.
One fan tweeted: ‘Nice showcase for Ava Raine in that tag match. Definitely curious to see more from her.’
Another added: ‘Ava Raine’s VERY green, but didn’t do anything too badly, definitely needs to stay in NXT for a good while longer though.’
And a third wrote: ‘Great match. Great story!!! Ava still needs work but I love the progress!!!’
Even before Ava had actually wrestled her first match, she had been, and she looks to have a lot of potential.
Dwayne previously admitted his daughter is looking toafter making history by officially becoming the first fourth-generation wrestler in the company’s history.
He told Entertainment Tonight: ‘She is fiercely independent.
‘It’s very important for her to make her own way. Blaze her own trail. Blaze her own path. She doesn’t come to me looking for a lot which I respect that. And I’m here watching and supporting.’
And while Ava herself has defended WWE’s decision not to use her family connection as a focus of her character, NXT boss and WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels has been in the business.
He told Metro.co.uk: ‘I think from a character standpoint, she’s been a real kick in the shorts for the Schism, and I think she’s doing fantastic.
‘We were just talking about it the other day. Her facials, she looks fantastic, she’s really getting comfortable – I think that’s the most important thing. She’s really beginning to, as we say, get into this character and enjoy the process.’
