Ed Sheeran ‘to sing national anthem after Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant with star-studded friends’

is reportedly set to sing after the Queen’s Pageant with a whole host of musician friends.

Sadly he will not be belting out his and ’s hit The Joker and the Queen, but we’re still in for a treat.

The jubilee will mark II’s 70 years on the throne, with the Perfect hitmaker marking the end of the celebrations on June 5 in a very special way.

Ed will reportedly be singing God Save The Queen, joined by the likes of Sandie Shaw, Marc Almond and Spandau Ballet’s Tony Hadley, along with soprano Lesley Garrett and Jools Holland.

A source : ‘There will be names that we closely associate with each decade of the Queen’s reign and they will be joining Ed Sheeran for the closing proceedings.’

It will come which will feature stars including Queen, and Diana Ross and only time will tell as to whether we get a repeat of Brian May

The stars will join  and Andrea Bocelli with a pre-recorded performance from Sir Elton John for the big celebration, alongside non-musical guests including Sir David Attenborough and Stephen Fry.

The concert, named the Platinum Party, will last around two and a half hours and will be broadcast on the BBC.

Guitarist Brian, who previously teased the news of the band’s involvement, said: ’20 years after playing the Queen’s glorious Golden Jubilee we’re very happy to be invited again.

Queen and Adam Lambert will open the festival, which will see 22,000 people attend, including 10,000 tickets to be released to the general public (while thousands of key workers will also be invited).

Alicia will then perform, along with Duran Duran, Hans Zimmer, Ella Eyre, Craig David, Mabel, Elbow, and George Ezra.

Eurovision’s Sam Ryder, , will also perform.

Diana will round out the evening, and said: ‘Her Majesty has and continues to be such an incredible inspiration to so many across the world and I was absolutely delighted to receive an invitation to perform on such a momentous and historic occasion.’
