has confirmed the existence of a WhatsApp group chat with all five members – but remains tight-lipped on any of the content shared between them.
The chart-topper, 48, has pivoted to a successful career as a radio presenter and is currently spending a few weeks on Heart Radio’s weekday Drive show with fellow DJ Jason ‘JK’ King, .
On Friday, she shared a clip on Instagram from one of their shows this week where JK tried to get some girl band gossip out of the Wannabe singer.
It began with a soundbite of her quipping that ‘there’d be a lot to see on that Whatspp group, I’ll tell you that!’ before it cut to them discussing the chat.
‘Yes, we do have a WhatsApp group, the five of us. But what goes on in the chat, stays in the chat I’m afraid – no sharing,’ revealed Emma of her conversation thread with former bandmates Geri Halliwell, 51, Victoria Beckham, 49,and Melanie C, 50.
She did tease a few details for fans though, adding: ‘But I can tell you the group chat name – [it’s] The Girls, champagne bottle, a glitterball and a microphone. Of course!’
When JK asked who was often the last to reply, Emma admitted: ‘Myself or Mel B.’
The band will certainly have been active on their group in recent days, as it’s understood in the wake of her husband Christian Horner being hit with allegations of ‘inappropriate behaviour’.
Horner, 50, has been battling to save his F1 career after a female employee accused him of ‘inappropriate’ conduct – – but which is said to have left Geri ‘devastated’.
Amid the news storm, it was previously reported that , as she even unfollowed the Beckhams on social media.
But Mel B insisted the girls had been in touch, with – telling : ‘We have a WhatsApp group and we have sent messages.’
Geri is also believed to be leaning on Victoria specifically, with Posh Spice ‘supporting her in any way she can.’
A source told : ‘They always got on well and have been there for each other through the difficult times.
‘When Geri was having a bit of a stormy relationship with some of the other Spice Girls, Victoria supported her and helped her through.
‘It’s the same now Victoria wants to support Geri in any way she can.’
Horner – who married Geri, , in 2015 – was formally cleared of the accusations on Wednesday this week, after a three-week independent investigation, with Red Bull announcing that ‘the grievance has been dismissed’.
However, the day after, WhatsApp messages – purportedly between Horner and the complainant – were L***ed to the media, F1 teams, FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem and F1 chief executive Stefano Domenicali.
