Eurovision viewers baffled over rumours Spice Girl Mel C is official commentator

The have officially kicked off! But viewers are already confused over who’s voice they’re hearing.

,  and  have been joined by Ukrainian singer, composer and Hardkiss band frontwoman Julia Sanina.

Meanwhile, those at home are and , but as the opening title rolled, it was another familiar voice heard on stage.

And some were convinced it could be a Spice Girl.

‘Mel C’s disembodied voice like a Scouse God,’ one person took to social media to write.

Another penned: ‘You know you’ve made it when Mel C is announcing you.’

‘Omg Mel C’s iconic voice,’ someone else wrote.

Others however, were not so convinced, with several asking: ‘Is that Mel C?’

While it has yet to be officially announced if it is Sporty Spice or not, the official presenters were recently revealed.

Ukrainian broadcaster  will be appearing throughout shows and giving commentary from Ukraine’s box straight from Liverpool, as the Eurovision Correspondent.

The 37-year-old TV presenter, who went viral during last year’s song contest after he provided Eurovision commentary for Ukraine while , fronted the Opening Ceremony alongside Liverpudlian.

Meanwhile, joins Rylan and Scott, and will be giving us her commentary for the Grand Final straight from the box.

And as well as hosting, Graham will take turns with comedian Mel in the commentary box so audiences watching from home can be treated to his thoughts on the acts the same as every other year.

The Eurovision Song Contest semi-finals are on May 9 and 11 on BBC One at 8pm. The grand final is on Saturday May 13 on BBC One at 8pm.
