has attended a premiere for in Hollywood, marking their first red carpet since he became embroiled in .
In the DC film, the actor, who is non-binary and goes by they/them pronouns, stars as comic book character Barry Allen, a role they first played in the 2016 movie Batman vs Superman.
While there has been much promotion in recent months for the latest blockbuster, which also features Sasha Calle as Supergirl, as well as Michael Keaton and as different versions of Batman, Miller hasn’t been involved thus far.
The 30-year-old spoke out at the star-studded event, addressing director Andy Muschietti in their first public comments since August 2022, when they apologised ‘to everyone that I have alarmed’.
Having received a ‘rockstar welcome’, as reported by , they said to Muschietti: ‘I love you, maestro. I think you are amazing, and I think your work is monumental.’
They also shared their gratitude to Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav and the co-CEOs of DC Studios Peter Safran and James Gunn ‘for your grace and discernment and care in the context of my life and in bringing this moment actually to fruition’.
Other stars at the premiere included Affleck and his wife Jennifer Lopez, who put on a loved-up display on the red carpet.
Jessica Chastain was also photographed at the event, wearing a floral and butterfly-adorned ensemble.
Miller has been involved in in recent years, with a video surfacing in April 2020 in which they appeared to choke a woman at a bar in Iceland. The incident didn’t result in any charges.
In March last year, they were and charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree assault.
They were accused of shouting and swearing at patrons who were singing karaoke at a bar, as well as grabbing a microphone twice from a woman, and they pleaded no contest to one count of . They paid a $500 (£398) fine.
That same month, a married couple took out a restraining order against Miller, which was then dismissed by a judge at the couple’s request a couple of weeks later.
In August, Miller was charged over the alleged burglary of a home in Vermont, where he was said to have stolen several bottles of alcohol.
They reportedly in January 2023, and as part of a deal, are required to take random drug tests and receive mental health treatment.
A statement from the actor’s attorney read: ‘Ezra would like to thank the court and the community for their trust and patience throughout this process, and would once again like to acknowledge the love and support they have received from their family and friends, who continue to be a vital presence in their ongoing mental health.’
Miller also issued a statement prior to their plea deal, saying: ‘Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment.’
