Last year’s massive datamine leak from Nvidia has once again proven accurate, making Tekken 8 and 6 that much more likely.

When the happened in September last year it seemed literally too good to be true. Datminers found what seemed to be a list of unannounced and PC games on streaming service GeForce Now, including everything from BioShock 4 to the 2.

The list was so long, and filled with so many unlikely games, that it was dismissed by many, except a strange thing started to happen: more and more of the predictions started coming true, including the really obscure ones.

One of these was , which is not an obscure choice as such, but given there was 13 years between Kingdom Hearts 2 and 3 it’s not a game you’d pick at random as something that was obviously going to be announced soon.

One of the first things to be proven was this year’s Call Of Duty, followed by the codenames of several secret Xbox projects – which were later proven accurate by separate sources. Other games like and a new Bioshock were also officially confirmed, with nothing so far proven to be incorrect.

What’s most intriguing is that so far every one of the Square Enix references have now come true, including the extremely unlikely – which was released earlier this month.

The list also included the then unconfirmed PC version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and a new Tactics Ogre – an especially obscure franchise which Square Enix was recently spotted creating a new trademark for (called Tactics Ogre: Reborn).

That seems to make the final unconfirmed Square Enix game, a remake of Final Fantasy 9, almost a certainty. Although what constitutes a remake can vary considerably from game to game, and the term is often confused, even with the industry, with the term remaster.

Whether it’s like Final Fantasy 7, where only the characters and basic plot stayed the same, or of it’s something much closer to the original is hard to guess, but since the 2000 PlayStation game still used pre-rendered backdrops it’s all but guaranteed that any remake would be very different.

The knock-on effect of all this is that all the other games mentioned in the datamine are also now much more likely to be true.

So that includes everything mentioned so far plus Dragon’s Dogma 2, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City and Vice City Stories Remastered, Injustice 3: Gods Will Fall, Tekken 8, and XCOM 3.

Games do get cancelled or renamed, so there are no guarantees here, but so far the Nvidia leak is proving extremely reliable and you’d have to assume that also includes the details of the new Nintendo Switch hardware…
