We have our first look at the mansion where will be filmed – and it’s very posh.
will front the new dating show, which was previously known as Romance Retreat and has been dubbed the ‘middle-aged .’
Set the air on in autumn, the series will welcome in whose grown-up offspring have nominated them to take part in a romantic adventure and (hopefully) find love.
While it all sounds rather lovely, a twist was recently revealed.
‘Unbeknownst to the parents, their kids will be watching their every move from a nearby location called The Bunker,’ ITV explained.
The daters will be under constant surveillance and their children will essentially be playing Cupid.
Sounds like things are going to get interesting!
And when they’re not caught up in drama, the parents will be able to relax in a very swanky West Sussex mansion, said to be worth over £8million.
Images of the property are enough to make anyone want to buy a Lottery ticket, as it’s set in 45 acres and has some fancy facilities.
The huge country house has a large driveway, outbuildings, and a patio area.
There’s even a tennis court, both an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, a steam room, a sauna, a gym, a spa, and a hot tub – oh, and the most stunning scenic views.
Host Davina has already swooned over the house, describing it as ‘the most romantic countryside location.’
And it seems locals are getting in the spirit of things too, having playfully renamed the Midhurst mansion ‘Viagra House’ as a cheeky nod to the age of the contestants set to live there,
Despite the comparison with Love Island, My Mum, Your Dad has some differences.
This series isn’t quite as long as Love Island – instead we will be treated to 10-hour-long episodes, meaning the singletons will have to put the work in from the get-go, because time will be ticking.
With the cast yet to be revealed and an official premiere date not yet confirmed, we still have some time to wait.
But, ITV has teased some exciting things in store.
‘From humorous moments to heartwarming confessions, the kids will see their parents in a whole new light as they are presented with opportunities to select who they’ll be matched with on one-to-one dates, and who may join the family celebrations for years to come,’ the channel said.
‘Get the tissues at the ready as we witness the highs and the lows, the tears and the funny moments, of finding love again,’ they concluded.
Meanwhile, we can be sure the show is in safe hands with ex-Big Brother host Davina, who before the show was even green-lit
She previously spoke to Steven Bartlett on his podcast, , about her passion for the project, which was non-existent at the time.
‘I’m literally begging ITV to let me present mid-life Love Island. I could fill a villa in Love Island with the best backstories you have ever heard in your life,’ she said.
And when My Mum, Your Dad was given the go-ahead, she said: ‘Thank goodness the secret is finally out! I’ve been bursting to tell.
‘I’m so so excited to host My Mum, Your Dad – this show will have you so invested in the people in it.
‘Fascinating, vibrant individuals who have lived incredible lives already, with a million life lessons under their belts, as they search for their perfect life partner. But also with the juiciest twist of any show I’ve ever worked on.’
My Mum, Your Dad launches on ITV and ITVX this autumn.
